Odessa, TX - White scuff marks on a helmet are now evidence to a crime.
On Sunday, (July 7, 2013) 54-year-old Kenneth Dorsett was riding his motorcycle on his way to work. He says the driver of a white Nissan turned left in front of him (2nd and Grant St.) and crashed into him. Breaking his back.
“It's amazing,” Dorsett said, “Your life flashes before you.”
Dorsett has to wear a turtle shell brace. He just returned from being in the hospital for nearly a month.
“I can't use the restroom by myself because of this turtle shell and I’m dependent upon my wife for everything I need right now,” he described his new life.”
Still, Dorsett is looking for who did this to him he says he crawled to the driver's side window and asked for help. He then noticed a child in the back seat.
"The child was pointing at me while I was on the ground asking for help," he said.
Although Dorsett’s glasses were knocked off, he was able to describe the driver as a woman who then put the car in drive and sped off.
“Kind of shocked and surprised,” Dorsett said, “You stand there and you're hurt and they drive off.”
An officer drove by and stopped to give Dorsett help law enforcement is now on the look out for the suspect.
“I don't wish ill upon them I just think they need to answer for what they have done,” he said.

“Things happen,” Rogers said, “If you stay and take responsibility for that there are a whole lot of last problems you're going to have been if the police had you down.”
