Three People Dead After A Trailer Home Caught Fire 07/05/13

Odessa – Odessa’s sheriff’s office tells me they are turning this case into a joint investigation with State Fire Marshals out of Lubbock. When CBS 7 arrived at the scene it was hard not to see fireworks covering the street. Residents in the area say this is their top concern.
“When I came from outside of my mobile, I was thinking about those firecrackers from last night. You know they were everywhere,” said an area resident.
It was what many of the residents were calling a horrifying event, one man CBS 7 spoke with said he woke up to some of the family members outside screaming for help. Others said it was like nothing they have ever seen before.
“I open up the door and I saw flames that were taller than that tree. I was like oh my God, what is going on. I’ve never seen a fire that big in this neighborhood,” said area resident Kimberly Mclane.
We reached out to the sheriff’s office as well as the state fire marshal who says they can’t release any information on the age or gender of the victims until all family members have been notified.
Neighbors tell CBS 7 that two children lived in the home, but of course don’t know if this fire affected them.
