Odessans Protest in Front of Stores Selling Synthetic Drugs 6/29/13

Odessa - Members of the community took to the streets to get what they call a "dangerous substance" off store shelves.
You may have noticed protesters around Odessa today and they are protesting the sale of synthetic marijuana.
It's legal in Odessa, but this group of protesters are attempting to get city council to ban the substance.
They say it has adverse health affect, hurts communities and is getting in the hands of kids. They say the have received support from neighbors in the area.
"The clerk has told us that we have definitely slowed down his sales today and if we can slow it down for just a little while and have that kind of effect with just a few people that our out here supporting this. Just imagine what we can do with the whole community," one of the protesters, Anna Scroggins said.
Some cities that have banned synthetic drugs in the past have seen the chemical compounds of new synthetic drugs change, which makes it hard to regulate these drugs
This group of protesters say the fight is just starting. They are going to organize more protests to make sure synthetic marijuana is not allowed in Odessa.
