UPDATE: Howard County Sheriff Releases the Name of Man Killed in Rig Accident 7/19/13

The following is a media release from the Howard County Sheriff's Office.
On Wednesday June 19, 2013 at approximately 10:15am, Deputies with the Howard County Sheriffs Office were dispatched to an Oil Rig off of RockHouse Road in Howard County in reference to an accident. Upon arrival it was discovered that a portion of the Drilling Rig had collapsed, killing one person. A second person was taken to Scenic Mountian Medical Center with with undisclosed injuries.
The deceased was identified as Felipe Saiz 40 years of age, of Big Spring.
The accident investigation was turned over to OSHA .
The rig was owned by Heartland from Abilene Texas
BIG SPRING - KBST is reporting that at least one person is dead in connection with an oilfield accident in Howard County.
The accident happened on Rockhouse Road on the site of a Heartland Drilling Rig. Sheriff Stan Parker tells KBST that there is at least one confirmed fatality. Family members say the derrick on the oilrig collapsed causing the accident.
