Odessa - One of the goals of the Odessa Police Department is to keep everyone behind the wheel safe.
In pursuit of this goal, the Department will begin to periodically designate “safe zones” throughout the city.
These “safe zones” are areas in which traffic enforcement will be increased in an effort to gain traffic law compliance.
Expect to see officers working these areas singly or in groups in an effort to gain compliance through education and enforcement.
Officers working “safe zones” will be enforcing all traffic laws but will pay close attention to red light, stop sign, speeding and other moving violations.
The “safe zones”for the next week are the 800-1600 blocks of North County Road West, the 100- 900 blocks of West University and the 4200- 5300 blocks of JBS Parkway.
