KERMIT-Sheriff George Keely is holding special training throughout this week for Sheriff's Deputies in Winkler County.
It's focused on preparing them for active shooter scenarios. Keely says they will be practicing how to use "all their physical and mental skills" to work with hostage situations.
"These trainings are designed to help in active shooter situations," Keely said. "They must use every skill they have as officers and their conditioning to be successful."
