West Texans Help Oklahoma Victims 5/21/13

Odessa, TX - Residents in Moore, Oklahoma are going to need massive support and west Texans are already stepping up to help.
"I get all choked up when we talk about people giving," said Bob Slider. It brought tears to the American Red Cross volunteer’s eyes when he talked about the support given by west Texans.
The American Red Cross is taking donations for the victims of Moore Oklahoma.
“It’s a severe tragedy with a lot of heartache and loss,” Slider said.
CBS 7’s parent company Investment Corporation of America donated $150,000 and challenged the people of the Basin to match it. The American Red Cross and ICA volunteers were taking donations all day Tuesday.
Occasion’s Fine Jewelry took in supplies from water and Gatorade to baby products for donations.
“It’s important to me because I have family there,” said Owner Cathy Fleck whose daughter lives just ten miles away from where the tornado hit. The store will be taking supplies until Sunday at this location: 2308 W Loop 250 N, Midland, TX (432) 684-0510
“You see this over and over when tragedy strikes or when something huge like this happens we all come together,” Fleck said.

A 20-foot enclosed trailer is set up at Aladdin’s Daycare in Odessa Wednesday and Thursday from 7am to 6pm and will be taking donations to Moore Oklahoma on Friday they’re asking for clothes, non-perishables, toiletries, diapers, and formula.
