Overnight Fatal Crash Closes 42nd Street In Odessa UPDATE 9:45AM 5/13/13

The following is a press release from the Odessa Police Dept:
The Odessa Police Department responded to a major crash in the 600 block of East 42nd Street. Investigation revealed that a 2006 Lincoln LS, driven by Ruben Pablo Galindo, 28 years of age of Odessa, was traveling west bound at a high rate of speed in the center lane of the 600 block of East 42nd Street.
Galindo lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a sign post and the impact spun the Lincoln into a utility pole striking the left side passenger. The Lincoln continued to spin through the parking lot striking an unoccupied Ford Ranger parked in the parking lot.
Ruben Galindo died at the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Odessa Tx - One person is dead after a crashing into a light post in Odessa.
Police were called to the scene of 42nd and Dixie at around 2 this morning.
Little information is known at this time but Odessa Police tells CBS 7 one person is dead.
The east and westbound lanes of 42nd are closed at this time from Dixie to Tom Green.
