MIDLAND-The Midland Convention and Visitor's Bureau says that the hotel occupancy rate for hotels in Midland has dropped 25 percent since the beginning of the year.
That means less people are staying in Midland hotels, according to Cara McKinney, convention sales manager of the Midland Convention & Visitors Bureau.
McKinney says the average rate per night for hotels in Midland/Odessa is $142.
"Although hotel occupancy is down, we still have revenue up," said McKinney. "It might sound like itís a bad thing, but itís good for our city because that money comes directly back into our city."
