UPDATE: 9:55 P.M.
Odessa Police say 44-year-old Delbert Lewis McNeil is the suspect who tried driving away in an Odessa College Officer's Car in front of Medical Center Hospital.
The College says the officer was preoccupied helping an MCH Policeman with another issue when McNeil got behind the wheel.
The OC Officer was dragged a little ways down the street in attempts to stop McNeil.
The hospital officer shot at the police car but it didn't stop McNeil. Officers then spotted the stolen police car near Kermit Highway and North West county Road.
The driver refused to pull over leading police on a chase that ended shortly after.
The driver is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer, aggravated robbery and evading arrest.
ODESSA-One Odessa College Police Officer and one Medical Center Hospital Police Officer were injured in a struggle with a suspect attempting to steal a police car, according to a hospital spokesperson.
"The individual attempted to steal the Odessa College Officers car and injured the Police officers with that vehicle," said Amber Sweeney, Spokesperson for Medical Center Hospital.
The male suspect got into one of the police cruisers and injured two officers while fleeing the scene in the police car.
One shot was fired by one of the police officers as the suspect fled in the car. It all happened outside the emergency bay at the hospital. The suspect was apprehended at 9th and Pittsburgh.
Both officers are in the hospital in good condition. No word on charges.
