The pictures are shocking.
“heartbreaking… i don’t know anyone in here that didn’t cry because we couldn’t understand why somebody would want to do this,” said Jessica Todia of A to Z clinic.
The cats ears and tail of this cat are chopped off and now everyone is wondering who could do this to a cat?
John Cross, a Midland resident, says the cat is well known around the neighborhood… and comes over to his house often…and just yesterday his wife found the cat badly injured.
“we were horrified…i mean this is one of the sweetest cats that i’veever really seen…all she really wants is love and affection,” he said.
“i think we can find this individual once we find them we’ll lock them down,” said Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter.
Mildand County Sheriffs are investigating the incident and say there was another cat found in the neighborhood injured beyond repair.
“someone in the area…believe it’s going to be juvenile kids that are acting a fool…that are doing this damage to the cats and harming them,” said Sheriff Painter.
Sheriff Painter says there is a concern that this person or group will follow a common trend of first hurting animals and then people
“I think anyone that would harm an animal such as this cutting off the tail and ears has got a problem and we need to find out what that problem is and address it,” he said.
CBS 7 spoke with A to Z veteranary clinic where the cat is being treated and they say the cat has a long road to recovery but hopes she can be put up for adoption in a couple of months.
