11th Annual Bloodgushers Marathon Benefits United Blood Services 3/30/13

MIDLAND – Hundreds of runners made their way to Grande Stadium for a friendly competition and to benefit the United Blood Services.
The Bloodgushers run was this morning where hundreds of runners helped increase the amount of blood available in West Texas.
Midland Police and Fire Rescue personnel were at the event in support of their cause. The winner of the half marathon who says he wanted to participate in this area because it was about more than just competition.
“Being able to come here and support on something good and relating to us is very important. I feel very proud to be a part of it today," said Marathon Winner, Josephat Keino.
Keino ran 1 mile per 6 minutes for a little over an hour in the adult men competition. He is a Kenya native and has lived in West Texas for 10 years.
The event was able to collect a couple of hundred pints of blood all, which will be available for West Texans when they need it.
