Odessa Man in Custody for Child Abduction 3/26/13

According to an Odessa Policeman on the scene, the vehicle involved is a white Ford Explorer.
ODESSA - Police have an Odessa man in custody after he abducted a child from the parking lot of La Tienda on W. Clements in Odessa.
The Odessa Police Department has issued this press release:
An Odessa man is in custody shortly after abducting a child from a vehicle parked in the parking lot of the La Tienda located at 826 West Clements. At approximately 1537 hours officers responded to a call of a reported kidnapping at this location. Upon arrival, officers learned that three female children, ages 6, 3 and 1 years old were left inside a vehicle, a Porsche SUV, while the mother went inside the La Tienda store.
A Hispanic male, unknown to the children approached the passenger side of the vehicle and knocked on the door. When the six year old open the door, the suspect grabbed her around the throat and took her from the vehicle. The three year old child reported what occurred to their mother when she returned to the vehicle.
An attempt to locate was broadcast and officers began an immediate search for the victim and suspect. K-9 Corporal Shannon Davis began a search of the area south of the store when he observed a man walking with a little girl in the area of Lee Street and Mable. The child matched the description of the victim.
The small child was indeed the victim. She suffered minor injuries to her neck. The suspect, Israel Ortega, date of birth, 09/19/1995, of Odessa was taken into custody and charged with kidnapping. Ortega is pending transport to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Child Protective Services was notified.
