ODESSA-Teachers and caregivers got a special lesson on discipline today at Odessa College.
The class—“Discipline and Classroom Management” offered tips and tricks for dealing with the tough question of discipline in the classroom.
It's an issue that caregivers say they face every day--especially with small children.
"The main purpose is not to be aggressive, not to yell, not to be defensive with children the main thing is to get to their level and understand that they're there for a reason,” said Director of Kids Corral Marie Jones. “We learned a lot today.”
The course is one of a number focused on working with children. The next scheduled class is on safety, healthy and nutrition on April 27.
The classes cost just $29 and you can sign up by calling the Odessa College Continuing Education office at 432-335-6580.
