Dallas Hires Tech Manager with Alleged Fake Resume 3/17/13
March 17, 2013
DALLAS (AP) - A Dallas information services department manager who began work after a hiring scandal has been charged with stealing a dozen city iPads.
Antoine Deon Flowers last September took charge of the city's desktop computer systems with his resume that included software engineer for NASA, service in the Army with top-secret security clearance and fluency in Spanish.
The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday that investigators believe most of the resume was made up or grossly exaggerated. Flowers was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with theft.
City officials declined comment. Flowers, who resigned in January, wasn't listed in jail records as being in custody Sunday and couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
The newspaper in 2011 reported another information services leader bypassed civil service laws to hire his church friends.
