ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Maryland is about to become the 18th state to abolish the death penalty.
The state General Assembly is expected today to give final passage to a bill getting rid of capital punishment.
Gov. Martin O'Malley, a Democrat, has been pushing for the change since his first year in office.
