MESQUITE, Texas - The deaths of four family members found in a suburban
Dallas home have been ruled a triple murder and suicide.
The Dallas County medical examiner said Thursday that the deaths of
44-year-old Marcelo Vazquez and his children, 18-year-old Alejandro and
21-year-old Paulina, were homicides.
The death of 43-year-old Angelica Vazquez was ruled a suicide.
Police in Mesquite say Angelica Vazquez was Marcelo's wife and the mother of
the children. They said a handgun was found near her body in the master bedroom.
Police discovered the bodies Wednesday after officers entered the home
because of mounting mail and newspapers.
Officers initially went to the house early Saturday after a 911 call of
shots fired, but they didn't try to force their way in because they could see
nothing amiss from outside.
