Sunny And Warmer Today 3/13/13

Expect a sunny and warmer day across the Permian Basin. Highs will top out in the lower to mid 70’s of most today. A few locations in the Presidio Valley will hit the lower 80’s. Winds will shift from the north this morning to the south this afternoon. This will take the bite out of yesterdays wind chill and allow for not only warmer temperatures, but a warmer feel to the air as well.
Sunny skies and a continued warming trend will persist into the weekend. Expect highs to continue climbing into the 80’s by late in the week. A few locations will even hit the 90’s on Saturday.
Winds will be stronger late in the week but will only flirt with what I define as “breezy”. So I’ve opted to leave the higher wind terminology out of the forecast for now.
Temperatures will fall late in the weekend into early next week as the thermal ridge looses its grip on the area and moisture begins to increase. For now, I will stop just shy of introducing rainfall into the forecast. However, further shifts will need to watch the Tuesday/Wednesday time frame when a series of shortwaves could move over the region.
