Midland Lee Goes to the National Band Festival this Week 3/10/13

MIDLAND – The Midland Lee School Honor Band is going to the National Band Festival in Indiana.
Today the band was able to perform for a crowd right here at home. The band performed a number of tunes that it will bring to the showcase.
They are on of few bands selected to participate. Today was also a chance for the band to honor Odessa High School Honor Band former director, Bill Dean.
Dean was recently induced to the American Band National Honor Association.
"He comes and works with our band, so it’s a real honor to have people like him around,” said Assistant Band Director Robert Simmons.
They leave for that big showcase tomorrow. The students will take a train up to Indianapolis to perform, attend workshops and listen to other bands play.
