(Odessa)- The 2012 crime report for Odessa shows an increase of crimes committed in the community, and police expect it to go up in 20-13.

According to the Odessa American, Robbery cases were up 90%.

Assault was up nearly 45% and Auto Theft was up 111%.

The most serious crimes fall under the "Part One" category.

Police officials say as the population increases, so does crime.

OPD officials say they would like to hire more officers to meet the growing workload.
