City of Carlsbad: No Confidence in Mayor 3/9/13
CBS 7 News
March 9, 2013
The following is from a newsletter from the city of Carlsbad:
Carlsbad - Our membership feels Janway is unfit to serve as the Mayor of Carlsbad, and the union asks for his resignation or dismissal.
Janway has compromised his own integrity and morals for his own self serving motives.
Ordering citations and other enforcement action taken by our membership to either be dismissed or overlooked because of the personal relationships he has with defendants, potential defendants, and public is not only illegal, but immoral.
Our membership will not stand for this type of behavior from our elected Mayor.
Janway has placed our members under unfair and undue hardship, and has taken advantage of his position of authority as Mayor.
In the process, he has created a hostile work environment and defeated morale at our department. Janway staying in office would only be a detriment to our department and the City.
Such abuse of power should not be overlooked. The CPOA requests a full investigation be conducted, and prefers an outside entity conduct this investigation.
The CPOA members will cooperate fully, and assist in any way it can. The CPOA stands together, unanimously, against corruption and illegal activity. We each have taken an oath to serve and protect, Janway has forgotten this.
Janway’s actions display a “self serving” belief, and this will not be tolerated by the CPOA.
We thank you for your time and consideration.
