JBS Parkway Reconstruction 3/8/13

March 8, 2013 – Sections of University and JBS Parkway are being closed for construction.
Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution, observe all traffic control devices and signals or, if possible, identify an alternate route.
The City has contracted with Jones Brothers Dirt and Paving for the reconstruction of the JBS Parkway between University and 42nd Street. This work is the first phase of the project which includes replacing and reconstructing concrete amenities (sidewalks, curbs, wheelchair ramps, etc.) near the JBS Parkway and University intersection. This phase is expected to be complete at the end of May 2013.
The second phase of construction will require JBS Parkway to be reduced two lanes while the asphalt is removed and a new paved surface is installed. Once the second phase of construction begins in June 2013 the project should be complete by October 2013.
The reconstruction of JBS Parkway is a continuation of the City of Odessa Capital Improvement Program. Conceptual drawings can be seen online at Odessa-tx.gov.
