Midland, Tx. - A two term Midland City Councilman is throwing his hat into the ring for Midland Mayor.
John James is making it official today that he is interested in running for mayor, if current Mayor Wes Perry decides not to run.
James is the District 3 Representative, and says he is all in for Midland.
James has also served on the Midland College Board, worked with Basin PBS and served on state boards.
He talked with us about why he is choosing to run.
James says: "We have a rapidly growing community in Midland and it takes a special leader to manage the city without the city managing you. If Mayor Wes Perry does not run again then I will be happy to throw my hat in the ring."
James say that if Mayor Perry decides to run again, he will run for his District 3 Seat on the City Council.
