MIDLAND-After years of planning, the Midland County Public Library will open its new Centennial branch Saturday, April 13.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be more than $7 million, including the building purchase and construction according to Midland County Purchasing Agent Monte Jamison.

The library will feature an emphasis on new technology and an expanded Spanish-language section.

City Commissioner Luis Sanchez says the expanded Spanish offerings will reach out to the growing demand for Spanish titles.

The library will be located near the Best Buy on the south side of Loop 250 near Ward Street and Whitmire Boulevard.
