Windy and Warm Today 3/4/13
Monday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
Expect a breezy to downright windy week across West Texas. Today will be a windy one! Highs will be in the mid 80’s to around 90. Winds will be out of the west at 20-30mph with a few higher gusts. Areas of blowing dust are likely. High fire danger is also expected. Please avoid any outdoor activities that involve sparks or flames. Welders should wet down their outdoor work areas.
A cold front will move into the region tonight. This will bring a strong northeast wind to the area, along with much cooler temperatures. Look for highs to run about 30 degrees cooler tomorrow. Even with sunny skies, temperatures will feel quite cold.
A warming trend will commence on Wednesday. Highs will bounce back into the 70’s on Thursday and Friday. Moisture will begin to return to the region as well. The next upper level storm system will approach the area this weekend. While there will some disagreement on the path the storm will take, there is enough evidence to support and introduction of isolated thunderstorms to the forecast on Saturday and early Sunday.
