Vatican City - Pope Benedict flies off into retirement soon after a quiet final day as pontiff.
No major speech is expected during his farewell meeting today with his closest advisers, just a simple greeting to each one inside the Clementine Hall of the Apostolic Palace.
He'll then take a helicopter to the papal retreat south of Rome.
