PGA Match Play - Round 3 2/23/13

Associated Press
February 23, 2013

MARANA, Arizona - Bubba Watson is among seven Americans still in contention at the Match Play Championship in Arizona, and he's also the only top-10 seed remaining. The eighth-seeded Watson played yesterday's longest match, needing 22 holes to beat fellow American Jim Furyk (FYOOR'-ihk) and advance to the third round.

The day included losses by third seed Luke Donald, No. 4 Louis Oosthuizen (WUHST'-hy-zen) and No. 5 Justin Rose. American Scott Piercy knocked out Donald 7 and 6, Robert Garrigus of the U.S. ousted Ooshuizen 3 and 2 and Nicolas Colsaerts beat Rose 4 and 2.

Today's schedule began with Garrigus against Fredik Jacobson and Steve Stricker versus Piercy in the lone all-American matchup. Watson battles Australian Jason Day.
