TX Rig Count Increases By Five 2/23/13

HOUSTON - Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Incorporated says the number of rigs actively exploring for oil and natural gas in the U.S. dropped by one this week to 1,761.
The Houston-based company said in its weekly report Friday that 1,329 rigs were actively exploring for oil and 428 for gas. Four were listed as miscellaneous.
Texas' rig count increased by five rigs this week. Oklahoma lost nine rigs, while Arkansas added one rig.
