Crews Cleaning Up Large Spill in Midland 2/22/13

The Midland Fire Department responded to a diesel spill at approximately 12:54 p.m. Friday on North Fairgrounds Road.
An oilfield truck was headed north on Fairgrounds Road when it suffered damage to its fuel tank while crossing the railroad tracks located along West Front Street. The truck continued to drive northbound for more than a half mile, spilling roughly 150 gallons of diesel.
Hazmat crews assisted in cleanup along with personnel from TxDOT and TCEQ. Hazmat crews left the scene at approximately 2:09 p.m.
