Greenwood Father Speaking Out after Gun Threat 2/21/13
CBS 7 News
February 21, 2013
A father is speaking to CBS 7 after he claims another child threatened to bring a gun to school and kill his son.
Bryan Anthony Dunn says a bully has targeted his son this past year.
But it all reached a boiling point on Tuesday, when his son alerted him that a student at school said that he was going to bring a gun and shoot him and his friends.
Dunn says he alerted the principal about the threat, but felt like the issue was "brushed off."
The superintendent released a statement saying the threat was not verified and the school district has determined that there was no serious threat to student safety.
Dunn says that any talks about guns by children should be taken seriously. And it’s our job, as a community, to tell children that these types of threats are not "ok."
Dunn contacted law enforcement this morning.
He says one Midland County Deputy will soon be patrolling around the school everyday.
