GARDENDALE, TX – A fence built by Berry Petroleum in front of the Berry Scar Memorial is finally complete.
The fence initially caused controversy between the Gardendale Accountability Project and the oil company.
GARDAP stated that the original design of the fence was initially created to block the view of the memorial site.
Since CBS 7’s story earlier this year, the design of the enclosure has changed to barbwire fence instead of a large camouflage enclosure, which would block the view of the site.
Berry Petroleum stated the fence is to secure their materials not hinder the view of the memorial site.
