UTPB Women's Basketball 5th in NCAA Regional Rankings 2/20/13

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin women's basketball team has been ranked fifth in the South Central Region in the first regional rankings of 2013, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Falcons, 17-5 on the year and winners of 11 straight games, are 4-3 against other teams ranked out of the South Central region this season, with wins over #2 Abilene Christian, #6 Tarleton State, #7 St. Mary's and #9 Incarnate Word. The team also received votes in the USA Today Coaches Top-25 Poll for the first time this season earlier in the week.
UTPB can clinch the Heartland Conference regular season championship Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. in the team's final conference game of the season against St. Edward's.
