Thunderstorms, A Few Severe, Possible This Evening 2/20/13

CBS 7 Weather
February 20, 2013

A dry line is setting up over the Trans-Pecos this afternoon, and it will work its way eastward during the late afternoon/early evening. As it moves into the eastern Basin it will interact with extremely moist air, bringing the possibility of thunderstorms this evening. There is a chance that some storms could be severe this evening, especially in the northeast Basin, with the main threat being damaging hail along with cloud to ground lightning.
Behind the dry line, very windy conditions are expected in the Davis and Guadalupe mountains, with a high wind warning in effect. Gusts could reach 60 to 70 miles per hour in the mountains.
