Big Spring – Big Spring ISD is making use of one of their old building while providing a place for pre-K age kids.

The Kentwood building is now being used as the districts early education center for the first time this year.

The program has 90 students this year. The center prepares their students for when they enter kindergarten.

The new school has been so big of a hit that school officials say they get calls two to three times a day asking to register.

In order to qualify for registration, a student must meet at least one of four requirements: qualify for free reduced lunches, if a child has been in foster care, parents are active military members or have been injured while serving, and if the child qualifies for ESL classes.

For more information about the early education program at Big Spring ISD call: 432-264-4130.
