West Texas Special Olympics Annual Competition Underway 2/16/13

ODESSA – Today was the Year’s 1st Special Olympics basketball competition at the Odessa College Sports Center.
According to Coach McCord, there were more than 200 Athletes played hoops and looking to take home the gold medal. Some of the towns present were Andrews, Midland, and Fort Stockton.
Event organizers say the idea is for athletes to compete and lean from each other.
“This our first competition, it’s an area competition. We come together and compete for Special Olympics for the gold, silver or bronze, where ever we place,” said ECISD Coach Kent McCord.
All teams had a great time and for the look of it they all won Gold.
