Search Continues in Texas for Florida Fugitive 2/15/13

GRAPEVINE - Authorities continue to search neighborhoods near a
North Texas department store parking lot where a Florida prisoner escaped while
being transported to Nevada.
Miami-Dade County officials who traveled to the Dallas-Fort Worth area said
Thursday that convicted sex offender Alberto Morales is a danger to the public
until he's caught.
Miami-Dade Deputy Mayor Genaro "Chip" Iglesias (ee-GLAY'-see-uhs) said the
detective Morales is accused of stabbing during the escape remains hospitalized
but is recovering.
Morales escaped Monday during a stop in Grapevine after using a piece from
his eyeglasses to stab the Miami-Dade police detective. He was to serve a
sentence of 30 years to life after his sexual assault conviction in Nevada.
Police say Morales has a large tattoo on his left arm depicting an American
Indian riding a horse.
