Student Caught With Two Airsoft Guns at Permian High School 2/12/13

Odessa - Around 8:30AM, ECISD says officials at Permian High School received a tip that a 16-year-old male student may have brought a weapon to school.
Administrators and ECISD police quickly found the student and searching his backpack, they recovered two Airsoft guns and pellets for those guns.
The guns were confiscated, but the student will not face criminal charges because Airsoft guns are not considered firearms.
He will face disciplinary action according to the Student Code of Conduct.
Police do not believe the students and staff at Permian High School were ever in danger.
ECISD says the school's schedule was not interrupted and the situation did not necessitate a shelter in place or lockdown.
Officials say The incident serves as another reminder that all types of look-alike weapons, air guns or toy guns are not allowed on ECISD campuses and students will be punished if found with them.
