School nurses say they're seeing more diabetic children in the Permian Basin than ever before.
Educators say with a growing population its essential to know the warning signs of a diabetic student when they need help.
From school work to exercise an educator has to be plugged in with the students at all times.
Principal Linda Voss with Blanton Elementary says in response to a growing number of type one diabetic students, faculty and staff are trained to know how to look out for signs such as high or low blood sugar.
We are trying to be proactive because of the increase in population and the children.
