Snow Still Causes Road Hazards 2/11/13

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - The headaches from the weekend snowstorm are far from over for travelers in the Northeast.
A 10-mile stretch of Interstate 91 was shut down in both directions for more than an hour today near Hartford, Conn., because of icy conditions. And many secondary roads still have a thick coating of snow.
At intersections and near highway ramps, high snow banks are blocking sight lines, making turning and merging hazardous.
One woman who lives in western Massachusetts but commutes to Boston twice a week for school says it was "definitely a struggle" to get there today. Dana Osterling says she and her six housemates first had to shovel for about three hours straight yesterday to free their cars.
Even for those who are able to get around, there's a new concern today. Forecasters say rain and warmer temperatures are moving into the region -- which could begin melting some snow, but also add considerable weight to snow that's already piled on roofs, posing the danger of collapse.
