Area Hero Honored for His 29 Years of Service 2/10/13

Captain Dale Land is retiring from the Odessa Fire Department after 29 years. He began his career in the department in 1984, and this weekend, community members and friends thanked him for his service.
Recently, his brother was promoted to Fire Captain and will take over his duties. Captain Land says it has been an amazing journey:
"I don't want to leave, but it know it's time. It's physically demanding. I’ve thoroughly enjoyied helping people. Its been a great career."
Captain Land says he is not going far, and that he will stop by every once in a while.
