Two championship contenders are meeting in Madison Square Garden today. The New York Knicks are hosting a Los Angeles Clippers team that's lost eight of 11 but still leads Golden State by 4 ½ games in the Pacific Division race. The Atlantic-leading Knicks have won six of seven and are four games ahead of second-place Brooklyn.
Also today, Eastern Conference leader Miami puts a four-game winning streak on the line against the visiting L.A. Lakers, Minnesota is at Memphis, Boston will be working on a six-game winning streak when it hosts a Denver club that's won nine straight, New Orleans plays at Toronto, Orlando looks to snap a 12-game losing streak when it entertains Portland, Northwest Division leader Oklahoma City shoots for a fourth straight W when it takes the court in Phoenix, the Western Conference-leading San Antonio Spurs will be looking to bounce back from their first loss in 12 games when they play the Nets in Brooklyn and Houston is at Sacramento.
