Midland - It was animals galore at the Hunting Extravaganza in Midland tonight.

It was all for the Safari Club's annual fundraiser at the CAF.

The sold out event included a silent auction, vendors and plenty to eat and drink.

Organizers of the event say all proceeds raised go to much more than just hunting.

“All of the money raised tonight goes into three areas: education, conservation and humanitarian. One big project we’re working on is poaching in Zimbabwe. Money will be sent to purchase backpacks and equipment to put a stop to poaching,” Cal Hendrick, Safari Club International West Texas Chapter president said.

A portion of tonight's proceeds also goes toward an education trip for Midland and Odessa students to become wildlife leaders.
