UPDATE: 5:30PM Manhunt Underway for Armed Suspects 2/8/13

The Reagan County Sheriff’s Office continues their search for men reportedly armed with guns, however they have suspended their active search for the day.
Earlier today, the Sheriff’s office received reports of possible illegal immigrants that were seen crossing Highway 67 with large backpacks. One was reportedly carrying a rifle.
The Sheriff’s Office say that since the suspects were believed to be armed, every precaution was taken.
The equipment the men were carrying is used to search for oil.
DPS Troopers, assisting in the search for the 3 men, say they still have not found the men.
Reagan County Sheriff's Department has requested the help of border patrol in the search.
DPS troopers say that one man did have a rifle. They do not know how many weapons they might have.

Reagan County Sheriff Jeff Garner tells CBS 7, they received two or three calls of three possible illegals that were seen crossing HWY 67 with large backbacks. One was reportedly carrying a riffle.
Reagan County sheriff deputies, Upton County sheriff deputies, the DPS helicopter and DPS Troopers are all helping in the search.
Garner says they are checking any areas were they people could hide.
Since the suspects are believed to the armed, every precaution is being taken.

Eyewitnesses are telling CBS 7 that there is a, “ton of police, sheriff and DPS …” on Highway 67 between Big Lake and Rankin.
We have confirmed with both the Upton and Reagan County Sheriff’s Offices that they are “on scene” but they have not told us the nature of the call.
