MIDLAND-We've been following up on a tip about abused dogs at a Midland dog shelter.
We checked it out and found more than 40 dogs living inside and outside a private home in Midland.
The city says it is illegal, but they're faced with a tough decision.
Midland Animal Services Director Paul O'Neill says if they crack down on the shelter and take the dogs in, their only option is to euthanize them.
"Some of the dogs that they have there, if we have to take to the shelter, we would probably just have to euthanize," O'Neill said. "Which I would rather not do."
We'll have more tonight on CBS 7 News at 5 and 6.
