Superintendent Keith Richardson tells CBS 7 that Monahans High School received an anonymous phone call saying that “something was going to happen on campus today.” He says the school district sprung into action and put the campus on a lockdown as a precaution.

According to Monahans High School Administration the lockdown has been lifted.

Monahans, TX – Monahans High School is in lockdown after they received a threat according to the secretary at the Monahans-Wicket-Pyote Independent School District office.
Parents say they received emails from the district saying their student are required to stay in their classroom until lunch.
The school district did not want to confirm what kind of threat was made, but parents say it was a threat of a gun on campus.
