FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Authorities say the Iraq War veteran charged in the shooting deaths at a Texas gun range told his sister that he killed two people.
Erath County Sheriff's Capt. Jason Upshaw said Monday that Eddie Ray Routh drove to his sister's house in Midlothian after the shootings on Saturday and told her that he killed two people. Previously, Sheriff Tommy Bryant said Routh told his sister "what he had done," but did not provide specifics.
Routh faces one count of capital murder and two counts of murder in the deaths of former Navy SEAL and "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield at the Rough Creek Lodge.
Routh, a member of the Marine Corps Reserve, is being held at the Erath County Jail on $3 million bond.
