A North Carolina man is dead, and his passenger is critical after a two-vehicle crash in Reeves County.
According to DPS reports, 40-year-old Kevin Bertram Long of Fayetteville, North Carolina died at the scene.
The crash happened at 12:20pm Monday afternoon on Highway 285, 7 miles north of Orla.
22-year-old Edward Martinez, Jr. of Hildago, Texas was airlifted to Odessa.
Troopers say a truck driven by Long drifted into the opposite lane striking a tractor- trailer.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

DPS troopers are on the scene of a fatal crash in Reeves County.
It’s located on N Highway 285, about 10 miles south of the Texas-New Mexico state line.
Details are limited at this time but troopers have confirmed at least one death.
