PECOS, TX - The unemployment rate in Pecos County is at 8.8 percent, just above the national average.
But local leaders say the way the Texas Workforce Commission calculates the numbers works against rural areas like Pecos.
Even though rig counts are up, employment numbers depend on where payroll offices are located.
