Victim of Afternoon Shooting Dies 2/2/13

The following is a press release from the Ector County Sheriff's Department:
The victim of the shooting that occurred on Kentucky Ave had died. He
died at Medical Center Hospital at 6:55 p.m.
It is now being investigated as a murder.
The name of the victim is Randy Brooks Jr, a white male.
No suspects are in custody at this time and the investigation continues.
Anyone having information on this incident is asked to call the Ector
County Sheriff's Office at 335-3050.
Odessa - Ector County Sheriff's responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting victim
in the 7300 block of Kentucky Avenue this afternoon.
The call was received at approximately 4:16 p.m.
Upon arrival, the deputies located a white male in his mid 30's with a
gunshot wound.
He was transported to Medical Center Hospital and his condition in unknown
at this time.
At this time, it is believed he was alone in the residence at the time of
the shooting.
Investigators are taking statements and talking to neighbors.
The CID officers are also on the scene documenting evidence.
No known suspects at this time.
