The Texas Department of Transportation recommends you take a P-A-S-S on Super Bowl Sunday. P-A-S-S stands for person appointed to stay sober. Gene Powell of TxDot told CBS 7 Closer Look that your odds of making it home safely are a lot better when you have a P-A-S-S. Last year on Super BowL Sunday Texas had four fatalities, 33 serious injuries and 100 accidents attributed to drinking and driving. Last year there were more than 1,000 people who died on Texas roads in alcohol related accidents. Powell also says, "it just makes things safer when you have a person appointed to stay sober and drive. It's safer for you and others on the road."
